AWB
An Air Waybill (AWB) is a crucial document used in air cargo transportation. It serves as a contract of carriage between the shipper (sender) and the air carrier (airline). The AWB contains essential information about the shipment, such as the shipper’s and consignee’s details, the origin and destination of the cargo, the nature of the goods, and any special handling instructions.

Types of AWBs: There are two main types of AWBs: the Master Air Waybill (MAWB) and the House Air Waybill (HAWB). The MAWB is issued by the airline to the freight forwarder or the shipper, while the HAWB is issued by the freight forwarder to the shipper or consignee. The HAWB is used for consolidating multiple shipments under a single MAWB.
Electronic AWBs: With advancements in technology, many airlines and freight forwarders have transitioned to electronic Air Waybills (e-AWBs). These electronic documents offer several advantages, including faster processing, reduced paperwork, improved accuracy, and enhanced tracking capabilities.
